Haha, those were fun things to sing! Kanan was a great center on Happy Party Train. [Her voice is wistful-- she enjoys talking about these things, but it kind of makes her sad, too.
She's going to have to go visit them in storage soon enough.] Well, it makes me... really happy to hear someone else sing them.
[ She shouldn't have said that, because now he's getting ideas. Crazy ideas. Hopefully, he'll be able to find a tailor that's not her... ] They are fun to sing. I think I might have just found a second favorite music. [ Sorry, You, nothing tops the Hoff in Rein's heart. Nothing. But her little idol group is a close second. ] Maybe some time, we can sing them together, Ja? And you can teach me the dance that goes with it? I promise I'm a good learner.
[ That laugh is totally what he's going for and he's definitely going to make sure to hear it again. ]
You are right. I'm probably not as flexible as an idol, but I will make up for it is energy to never give up until I have it right! So, whenever you want, I'll sing and dance with you.
You could if I sat down on the ground! But you are right. It's probably best if we didn't try that. But I still want to do them with you. And who knows, maybe I can get you into a dirndl and teach you the Schuhplattler
A dirndl is a traditional dress that German girls wear. It's very cute. And the Schuhplattler is a dance. Also a tradition. It's also called the shoe slapping dance and I was the 5 time champion of the Crusaders at it.
It is. Give me a second and I'll send you a visual message.
[ What follows is the sound of fumbling and then there's Reinhardt in living color, grinning like a loon and standing so he's clear of anything breakable. ]
It's like this.
[ He performs a very energetic dance. His thigh smacks and claps are like thunder and his stomps shake the video. He's having a grand old time at it though.
After...]
It's usually done in groups, so imagine 20 to 50 men and women my size doing this!
Ja. All my friends. My commander back then, Balderich, he was even bigger than me. I had to look up to talk to him.
I don't know...we had all sizes of people. But Balderich had a rule about the Crusaders. We had to be 6'5" or taller because of the size of our armor. We even had lady Crusaders. Gretchen could kick my butt from here to next week. She would have loved you and fed you so many sweets.

[Hearing someone else sing those songs-- they sort of make her heart ache.]
What other ones did you learn?

Well, I really liked Daydream Warrior. And Happy Party Train. That one is really fun! A little hard with my accent, but I really like it a lot.
[ He's just going to hum the later song, terribly off key. But with true and honest enjoyment. ]

I think I might have to adjust the choreography a little, though. Maybe you can't do all the moves?

Oh wow.
That's silly, but also weirdly endearing...?] That's-- wow!
Er, I can't really imagine 20 to 50 men and women your size, period. [You're big, Rein.]

Well, back when I was young, my army group, the Crusaders, were all my size! And we would shake the castle walls during Oktoberfest! It was glorious.
